We all long to connect with our inner child; that part of ourselves we consider to be the most authentic part of who we are. This is why I especially enjoy photographing children. They are so present, so naturally authentic.  In the light of this uncontrived beauty, facial expressions are pure emotion, illustrating the dreams, hopes, and imagination of each child.  I  love to edit with warm black and whites to add a "timeless" look but I also always include color images in your shoot.

Thinking back to my childhood home, I recall my favorite photo of my then newly engaged parents. Complete with groovy toothpaste colored bell bottoms and the beautiful glow of young love, these were people I could relate to even during my teenage years. That photo, so full of optimistic promise, allowed me to remember that they were once young and playful too. 

I find newly engaged couples truly inspiring, no matter what their age. By the light of their love, my artful eye is guided to capture the unique essence of their union.

I am always honored when a client would like to have me tell their "wedding story." I start this process with the end in mind. What images do you want to look back on to remember your day? I meet with my clients and consult during the planning process to help ensure that I meet this vision within the schedule of events for the day. I tend to take backstage during the ceremony so that the couple and their family and friends can focus on each other without the distracting movements of the photographer at work. Maternity sessions are offered in nature or the intimacy of your home.  I strive to capture the love connection between the couple "the artists" who co-created this new  life and are in the process of recreating their own lives to welcome this little one into the world. I also capture the beauty of the "bump" a powerful symbol of femininity, creation, and love. 

Investment starts at $200 for a 30 minute session and 25 polished digital images with full print/post rights. I can assist in the selection of location and clothing as needed.

Nothing is more beautiful then parents welcoming space for more love in their lives. It's amazing to capture newness of life and this love connection. Newborn sessions take longer then a typical shoot with more delicate transitions between images, built-in breaks for nursing, or to comfort your new little throughout the process. The earlier the better for these sessions. I can come to you.  I can capture anything you like, a first pair of shoes, the babies room, or anything else you like. I can bring props and everything needed to set up a studio in your home. These sessions need to take place during the day as natural daylight is required. A professional flash can harm a newborns developing eyes and will not be used. As newborns cannot control their movements or gaze, the best images are of a sleeping baby that can be easily molded into a cute bundle or held sweetly by parents. These session are 90 minutes long and include 25 polished digital images, full copyright privilege to print as you please, a personal image gallery allowing you to choose your 25 images or invite others to view your shoot.

Imagination is such a vibrant magical part of childhood and your little ones' personalities often come alive in themed mini shoots. I offer both themed and theme-free mini sessions {in the beauty of nature}. Mini sessions allow clients to split the time/cost of their shoot with other clients. These sessions are 30 minutes and include 25 edited images for download for $150. Mini sessions allow for clients to get more frequent photo's of their little ones' through changing milestones without the expense of a traditional shoot. Clients can also organize their own groups for mini sessions and choose the location. The group organizer who is able to recruit 6 other clients for a mini session, with be gifted with a complementary session. I have some clients who have complementary photography all year long by simply spreading the word through facebook friends, play groups, meet up groups, or work.

There is something adorable about watching a child experience their first piece of birthday cake. I have had several clients ask me to capture their little one's "cake smash." This is typically a pre-birthday shoot and client's use the images as framed decorations during their child's actual birthday party, to create custom invitations, and to mark milestones in their child's photo album. Parent's bring their own creativity to these sessions. A vintage wooden highchair, small sprinkled cake, and a natural  backdrop can be really sweet. I have also had client's with elaborate themes such as this sample shoot. Clients can choose to have their images in black and white, vintage edit, or typical color photography. I have fun working with you to create a playful memory. Sessions are $210 at a location of your choice and typically last between 45-60 minutes and clients receive between 30-50 images. The "cake smash" may only last a few minutes and is typically brought out at the end of the shoot.

I have photographed events for many large companies including: Google, Hewlett-Parkard, Exxon, and Anheuser-Bush. I have been the primary photographer to cover an event where the entire Gas Lamp District of San Diego was closed off for a exclusive party.  When hired to cover large-scale or smaller intimate events, I capture the full story down to the smallest details. I have traveled to Los Angeles, Arizona, and Colorado to cover exclusive parties and events.  I am willing to travel to cover you event. Travel rates may apply. PS. I'm fun.
